Historical financial reporting for UAE service businesses
Read profit, unpaid balances, and the records behind them.
Review posted financial activity for the dates and currency you choose. See historical profit and loss, customer balances, and cash movements, then export the report for accountant review.
Diwanio’s core reports include trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash movements, and receivables. P&L uses posted income and expense records; receivables account for recorded payments and posted credit notes as of the selected date. These are historical views, separate from forecasts and Growth’s formal close controls.
Core historical reports are included in Free within its record limits. Formal period close and approval controls start with Growth.

How the workflow changes
How the workflow changes
UAE service businesses and their reviewers that need source-linked records, assigned questions, and a defined monthly handoff.
- 01
Review profit and loss for a selected date range.
- 02
Check unpaid customer balances and due dates at an as-of date.
- 03
Review trial balance, balance sheet, and historical cash movements in the report’s currency.
- 04
Export supported reports to PDF or XLSX with dates, currency, and source detail.
A historical profit-and-loss example
Review the period’s profit from posted records.
A fictional service business reviews 1–15 October 2026 in AED. Assume its posted income is AED 10,000 and posted expenses are AED 3,000; these are accounting amounts for the example, separate from VAT balances.
Illustrative figures only. This is a worked calculation, not a customer result, forecast, or product screenshot.
- 01
Set the reporting period
Open the profit-and-loss report and select the start and end dates. Confirm the company and reporting currency before comparing the amounts.
- 02
Read income and expenses together
In this example, AED 10,000 of posted income less AED 3,000 of posted expenses gives AED 7,000 of profit. Review the source records and any corrections before relying on the result.
- 03
Export the view for review
Export the report to PDF or XLSX with its dates and currency. Discuss unexpected balances and missing records with your accountant before closing the period.
AED 7,000 of historical profit in the example
The report explains the posted income and expenses within the chosen dates. Profit is separate from the cash available in a bank account; incomplete or incorrectly posted records can change the result.
Core historical reports do not forecast future cash or certify financial statements. Growth adds the formal prepare → review → approve close workflow; professional conclusions remain with your accountant.
An unpaid invoice balance example
See what remains after a payment and a credit note.
At 15 October 2026, assume one fictional issued invoice totals AED 1,050, a recorded payment allocation is AED 400, and a posted credit note totals AED 150. All three records use AED and are dated on or before the report date.
Illustrative records and amounts. This example explains an open balance; it is not a payment receipt, refund, or customer collection result.
- 01
Choose the balance date
Open receivables and select the as-of date. Check the customer, invoice, currency, and due date; an invoice settled later may still be open at the earlier date.
- 02
Check the recorded reductions
Review the payment allocation and posted credit note behind the invoice. AED 1,050 less AED 400 and AED 150 leaves an open balance of AED 500 in this example.
- 03
Review the next action
Check the due date and any unresolved source information, then agree the follow-up with the responsible person. Keep balances in different currencies separate when reviewing totals.
AED 500 remains open at the example date
The balance comes from the invoice, payment evidence, and posted credit note available at that date. The credit reduces the receivable; it does not itself return cash to the customer.
This describes recorded balances and due-date review. It does not promise ageing buckets, automatic reminder delivery, debt collection, or payment initiation. Review the source and actual customer communication separately.
Check the scope before interpreting the number
Check the scope before interpreting the number
A report reflects the relevant posted records and balance evidence available in the workspace. Confirm its dates, currency, and underlying records; incomplete data or later corrections can change the interpretation.
- Profit is not the same as the bank’s cash balance.
- Recorded payments and posted credits reduce an invoice’s open balance.
- Historical reporting is separate from forecasting or tax-return filing.
Prepare each client company’s records for accountant review.
Organise each client company’s invoices, receipts, statements, missing evidence, and source-linked review questions before the accountant handoff. Every company keeps its own separate workspace.
Diwanio prepares evidence and review context; the client company invites its accountant. It does not combine client ledgers or replace professional judgement.

Financial reporting questions
Understand the source records, dates, exports, and plan conditions.
Does the profit-and-loss report show my cash balance?
No. P&L shows posted income and expenses for the selected period. Historical cash reporting and bank records answer different questions. Review each report’s scope with your accountant.
How is an unpaid invoice balance calculated?
The open balance starts with the invoice total and subtracts recorded payment allocations and posted credit notes included at the report date. Keep currencies separate and inspect the linked evidence before following up.
Can I export reports for my accountant?
Supported trial-balance, P&L, balance-sheet, cash-flow, and receivables reports export to PDF or XLSX. Check the selected dates and currency before sharing the output.
Do I need Growth just to view reports?
Core historical web reports are available on Free, within its source-record limits. Growth is required for the formal period-close review and approval workflow; Essential adds retained uploads and a second user.
Does this provide forecasts or file tax returns?
No. These examples describe historical financial reports and recorded customer balances. They do not promise forecasting, audited financial statements, automated debt collection, or tax-return filing.
