Your accountant confirms VAT treatment; Diwanio does not certify invoice compliance. UAE e-invoicing submission through an accredited service provider is not currently available.

How the workflow changes
How the workflow changes
UAE service businesses and their reviewers that need source-linked records, assigned questions, and a defined monthly handoff.
- 01
Set the customer, invoice number, issue date, due date, and currency.
- 02
Describe each service or product with quantity, unit price, and an entered VAT rate.
- 03
Review the calculated subtotal, VAT, and total before saving.
- 04
Keep notes, payment allocations, and supporting records close to the invoice for review.
A service invoice, step by step
From completed work to an invoice you can review.
Imagine a consultant billing a customer for two hours of work. Here is the record they prepare in Diwanio.
Illustrative example. The amounts and customer situation are fictional; they are not customer results or tax advice.
- 01
Set the invoice details
Choose the customer and currency, then enter the invoice number, issue date, and due date.
- 02
Enter the work and review totals
Enter 2 hours at AED 500 each. With a user-entered VAT rate of 5% and tax-exclusive prices, the subtotal is AED 1,000, VAT is AED 50, and total is AED 1,050.
- 03
Save, preview, and follow payment
Save the draft and review its invoice preview. Download the PDF when needed, then review recorded payment allocations and the remaining balance.
One invoice record to revisit
Customer details, service lines, dates, totals, notes, and recorded payments remain available with the invoice. Retained supporting-document uploads require a paid plan.
The example assumes the entered rate has been confirmed for that transaction. Your accountant confirms tax treatment. A customer invoice or PDF is separate from regulated e-invoicing submission, which Diwanio does not currently offer.
Review the invoice details before the handoff
Review the invoice details before the handoff
Diwanio calculates line amounts and invoice totals from the quantities, prices, currency, and VAT rates entered by an authorised user. Review the supporting information before the accountant confirms the treatment.
- Check the customer, invoice number, issue and due dates, and currency.
- Review each line description, quantity, unit price, and entered VAT rate.
- Keep payment allocations and supporting evidence available for the accountant review.

UAE customer invoicing questions
See what Diwanio includes in an invoice record and where tax review remains with your accountant.
Can I use Diwanio for free invoicing in the UAE?
Diwanio Free supports up to 5 invoices per month for one legal entity and one user. It does not include retained document storage or uploads. Essential removes the monthly invoice limit; see pricing for current plan details. Your accountant remains responsible for confirming VAT treatment.
What details can I include on a customer invoice?
An invoice can include the customer, invoice number, issue and due dates, currency, line descriptions, quantities, unit prices, entered VAT rates, and notes. Confirm which fields and treatment apply to your business with your accountant.
How does Diwanio calculate invoice totals?
Diwanio calculates line amounts and the invoice subtotal, VAT, and total from the quantities, prices, and VAT rates entered. Your accountant should confirm which VAT treatment applies to each sale.
Does Diwanio certify VAT invoices or submit e-invoices to an authority?
No. Diwanio does not certify invoice compliance, determine tax treatment, or submit invoice data to the FTA or another authority. Use current official guidance and your qualified adviser to confirm requirements.
Can I prepare an invoice in a different currency?
The invoice form lets you select a currency available in your workspace. Confirm the currency and accounting treatment needed for the transaction with your accountant.
Can my accountant review the records behind an invoice?
Keep the invoice details, notes, payment allocations, and available supporting evidence together for review. Your accountant confirms the accounting and tax treatment.
Can I turn an accepted quotation into an invoice?
Yes. Growth lets you convert an accepted quote into a linked, unposted invoice draft. Review the new invoice dates, lines, amounts, and tax details before issuing or sending it. Repeating conversion returns the invoice already linked to the quote.
Do recurring schedules send invoices or collect payments automatically?
No. Growth schedules generate invoice drafts for review at the configured monthly, quarterly, or yearly interval. They do not automatically post, send, or collect the invoice. Check the generated draft before continuing.
How do I correct an issued invoice with a credit note?
Record a reason and the adjustment amounts against an eligible issued invoice, review the credit-note draft, and post it when appropriate. Credit and tax amounts cannot exceed the remaining original invoice amounts. A posted credit reduces the receivable; it does not itself refund cash or submit a regulated e-invoice.
